During the special detail on Tuesday, Feb. 6, troopers in Bedford and North Castle busted 31 motorists for speeding on the interstate, and one driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
In total, 61 tickets were dished out by troopers during the detail for various violations.
The detail comes on the heels of several similar details on I-684 late last year, that saw troopers issue more than 100 tickets on several dates. State police have also conducted similar special details on the Sprain Brook Parkway and I-95 during the fall and winter.
According to police, these details will continue throughout the year as troopers make an effort to curtail dangerous driving and keep highways safe for motorists.
